We are now looking for a fixed-term contract Cargo Operator colleague to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the cargo flow execution as per timeline and regulatory requirements. You will have to execute daily tasks in a cost-efficient and effective manner.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees end-to-end processes and ensures quality output whilst meeting customer needs.
- Handles discharge activities in close cooperation with the GSC and countries and ensures no units will be loaded unless cleared.
- Handles transhipment bookings as advised by the responsible capacity desks and optimizes the network at the lowest possible costs.
- Handles all changes to discharge, load and transhipment bookings and executes all inter-terminal transfers.
- Manages all husbanding activities (repairing, bunkering) including coordination with third parties.
- Monitors all vessel operations and manages cargo and vessel incidents.
- Ensures timely and accurate release of all vessels.
- Drives cost effectiveness in the cargo execution process.
- Pro-actively reduces waste such as longstanding containers, re-nominations and cargo no-shows.
- Responsible for special cargo operation.
- Identifies and suggest continuous improvement possibilities in the ways of working.
- Identifies and executes cost reductions through the SmartOPS process within the team.
- A minimum of 1-2 years working experience in the field (supply chain, logistics).
- Understanding of terminal operations (vessel experience is an advantage).
- Ability to work autonomously and to take independent decisions under high-pressure scenarios.
- Ability to deliver results in a challenging, fast-changing environment.
- Customer-centric orientation with good interpersonal skills.
