The Academic Manager of the campus is responsible for all aspects of academic operations, teaching and learning, student support and integrated quality assurance on campus.
Educational Requirements
Bachelors degree or preferable an Honours Degree
Minimum 5 years experience in an academic management in a tertiary environment
Knowledge of regulatory bodies (DHET, CHE, SAQA, QCTO, SETAs, UMALUSI , ICB, SABPP etc
Knowledge of regulatory accreditation criteria of CHE
Knowledge of QCTO and SETA processes and requirements for accreditation
Experience in academic operations in particular
Computer literate
Duties And Responsibilities
Manage all lecturing staff, timetabling, the delivery of academic calendar and assessments to assure academic integrity and regulatory compliance of the programmes offered at the campus
Responsible for efficient implementation of all academic activities at campus level
Ensure campus is compliant with all accreditation criteria in HET and FET spaces
Liaise with head office and maintain academic and institutional compliance
Ensure policies and procedures are maintained to ensure learning programs are conceptualized, developed and introduced in higher education band
Register and comply with relevant regulatory body instructions
Maintain all academic processes, procedures and systems to ensure legislative accreditation is maintained
Manage product development and oversee departmental budgets
Manage and oversee activities of faculties
Manage examiner, moderator and marker database to ensure academic integrity and excellence
Manage assessment processes and facilities
Staff development and training
Provide academic leadership and facilitate research and development
