Account Director

Job Summary:
As an Account Director your primary responsibility is to drive the day-to-day client management with strategic influence on a fast-paced global account in Africa. You will work on several campaigns from inception to delivery, across all projects working with numerous stakeholders to deliver a seamless delivery for our client.

Skills Required:

An M&C Account Director must possess the following skills in order to succeed.
  • The candidate must be a natural leader with fantastic people skills - both within the agency environment and when dealing with clients.
  • You are expected to act as lead on the allocated portfolio and be able to interpret the client's business requirement into clear creative output through briefs.
  • You are expected to have an understanding digital platform and have a general understanding of the performance marketing to translate through the relevant stakeholders.
  • The ideal candidate needs to able to handle several projects and have the ability to develop project plans simultaneously.
  • Account Management relies not only on communicating effectively with clients but ensuring that one displays impeccable presentation skills.
  • In this role you will be expected to place emphasis on managing tight deadlines and timings.

Additional Role Dimensions:
  • Business accountability: Ability to lead a team, including external agencies, in both work-from-home or work-from-office environments.
  • Strong digital skills with a strong understanding of social and digital platforms and technical / production requirements.
  • Ability to think commercially and understand real return on investment.
  • Strong focus on strategy & execution.
  • Financial accountability: Managing Costs across all projects such as generating CEs on time for out of scope projects, ensuring PO's are received from client on time and in turn sharing Invoices with clients and following up on payments.
  • Internal relationships: Ability to lead a team and have a collaborative spirit by driving and embracing integration internally, with client and with partner agencies.
  • External relationship: Ability to effectively manage clients by having elevated conversations when needed and foreseeing obstacles/ blockages and managing these accordingly.
  • Working environment: Provide Clarity to all situations be it briefings, debriefs, internal status etc.

Experience Required:
  • 3 -5 years experience as an Account Director (big agency experience is preferable)
  • An in-depth understanding of the key departments, processes, and structures within an Advertising Agency.
  • Good knowledge of media landscape (traditional - TTL, ATL & BTL & digital)
  • Experienced in working with senior clients across multiple stakeholders.
  • Must be PC literate: Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel - preferably with experience working CHASE software.
  • The ability to own a project from start to finish (Strategy to Roll out)

Qualification Required:
  • Matric certificate with college or university exemption (Marketing or Advertising qualification)
  • Project Management Course
