Account Manager

A specialised Logistics Software Provider is seeking a dynamic Sales Representative to drive sales and operations by achieving relevant targets, while building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, fellow team members and service providers on a national basis.

Minimum Requirements For The Role
  • Must have a tertiary qualification in Business Management / Project Management / Sales / Marketing or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years sales experience will be required
  • Experience in the Logistics, Financial Services, Financial Technology or Consumer Financial Services is preferred
  • Must have strong administrative and negotiation skills, with a solid commercial acumen
  • Good communication skills, specifically in English and Afrikaans, with the ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders of all levels, will be required
  • Must have a valid drivers license and be willing to travel on a national basis
The Successful Candidate Will Be Responsible For
  • Providing input into the development and design of sales (including calling) and marketing plans.
  • Participating in high quality engagement and strict adherence to sales calling plans.
  • Growing the existing customer base by ensuring an understanding of products and services.
  • Generating leads to assist the increase in new customers sign-ups.
  • Demonstrating commercial competence by ensuring own understanding of performance by customer, service point, branch, diesel truck park and country.
  • Investigating and integrating competitor and customer insights to identify growth opportunities and proposing action plans to influence sales.
  • Conducting market visits where required, to check route coverage, competitor activity, and continuously search for new opportunities in order to increase sales in the region.
  • Compiling and submitting monthly sales performance reports.
  • Providing support and input into Accounts (Customers/Creditors) with regular follow ups on overdue accounts.
  • Monitoring service levels at service stations to ensure customer satisfaction, volume growth and economies of scale.
  • Monitoring input costs at stations to improve profitability and competitiveness.
  • Providing support and input into the development and design of best practice service level agreements.
  • Monitoring service levels at both sites and stations to ensure customers satisfaction, volume growth and economies of scale.
  • Contributing in improving input costs at both sites and stations to improve profitability and competitiveness.
  • Planning and scheduling visits to all sites and stations.
