JOB STATEMENT
The Account Manager will be responsible for overall co-ordination of local business and relationship with the nominated key account on site(s) for the entire Metso Outotec offerings. Key aspects of the responsibilities are building relationships and expanding business opportunities which require detailed and profound understanding of the accounts operational needs as well as Metso Outotecs capability to offer products and services to meet those needs.
The overall goal is to promote account management way of working and ensure compliance to it. The Account Manager is a full-time role and covers a cluster of mines across a territory. The Account Manager will be responsible to manage Order intake, Net Sales and the overall Gross profit contributing to the Western Territory Area within the South African Region.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
To develop business & relationship with the account locally by offering Metso Outotecs complete value adding into the account. These include:
- To assess the accounts total potential with Metso Outotecs products & services develop future market potential and develop future market potential for Metso Outotecs business with the account
- To develop and implement local accounts business plan annually to secure new business of the accounts within defined area and responsibility. Responsible for customer satisfaction on site level
- To regularly update the local accounts business plan with activities and opportunities on Salesforce
- Responsible for developing and managing sales activities and plan within responsible area within mining industry
- To build and maintain Customer relationships through effective client service
- Ensure after-sales and technical support is provided to current and new Customers within agreed SLA
- Determine and develop opportunities relate to all the Metso Outotecs Product lines (SVS, CNS, Pumps and Capital Equipment). Focus on opportunities development with long term commitments with key customers
- Develop clear and affective technical and commercial proposals for current and new customers
- Work in close co-operation with Product Support to develop new ways to sell and engage with customers
- Reports directly to the Senior Sales Manager
- Work together with various Product Specialists (Head Office)

- Matric (Grade 12)
- National Diploma in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering
- Process plant experience will be beneficial
- Mining application knowledge (Milling, Crushing and Screening, Grinding, Pumps, Flotation and Services products)
- Proven account manager in sales experience and strong business acumen
- Clear understanding and experience in sales within mining industry
- Strong relationship building skills as well as communication and presentation skills
- Ability to travel within the Northern Cape and Western Cape region
- Preference for multi-lingual candidates. English as main language
- Work experience in a mining sales environment
- Good interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Good market knowledge
- Good technical and sales background of various mining equipment
- An existing customer network would be beneficial
- Computer literacy is essential
- High Customer satisfaction within the Region (customer coverage, reputation and quality of relationship)
- Choose the right product offering for the market and customer
- Manage the sales opportunities and sales funnel in a Customer Relationship Management Tool (e.g. Salesforce, etc.)
- Account Manager to achieve their sales targets and Ensuring that the Metso Outotecs processes and tools are appropriately used
- Establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in the assigned territory/market area to generate new business for the organizations products and services
- Uphold Metso Outotec Values drive innovation Technical background (understand & read technical drawings)
- Admin.-quote registers, sales forecasting, sales budgets etc
- Communicator Handle customer needs & customer complaints
- Perform under difficult situations, Plan and use own initiative
- Follow up on quotes, as well as pursue back orders and lead times
- Diplomatic in negotiation skills
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear
- The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and climb or balance
- The employee must occasionally lift and/move up to 15kg
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, colour vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Use of keyboards, telephones, copiers and telefax
- Climbing of stairs, ladders, scaffolds at job sites and customer facilities
- Excessive Travel
