Our client is an independent, SANAS accredited testing laboratory. They are an authoritative provider of a comprehensive range of chemical and microbiological analyses and related services to the food and non-food industries. They are looking for an Account Manager to join their Cape Town team.
Job Description
- Responsible for all new business sales activities, from lead generation to closing sales
- Together with the Client Relationship Manager develops and implements a Sales and Marketing plan which will meet the goals of expanding the customer base
- Be a brand ambassador and maintain the company image
- Managing new client relationships from prospecting to account management
- Thorough understanding of all chemical and microbiological analyses carried out by the company
Client Relationship
- Targeting new business based on monthly market segments.
- Targeting new business based on industry changes, updates, and historical norms
- Quotations for new clients
- Assisting clients with the completion of new client forms
- Assisting new clients with Finance information for Company procedures and policies
- Confirmation with new clients, sample loggers, and laboratory for POs before logging and lab releasing of results. Resolving outstanding queries
- Follow up with all new clients regarding their first-time interactions with the Company
- Resolving any queries if complaints are raised
- Resolving all queries and customer complaints for new clients
- Monthly follow up meetings with all new clients
- Reports to be populated for new VIP clients and to be discussed with senior representatives in monthly external meetings
- Sales of all laboratory services
- Develops a market-segmented database of leads/prospective clients
- Develop a market-segmented database of existing clients
- Stay abreast of latest industry developments
- Gain understanding of pricing and quotation system and LIMS
- Feedback to Managing Director and Senior managers on all matters affecting the department
- Optimizing efficiency and systems
- Sell consultatively to prospective clients and existing clients
- Assist and guide new clients with the requirements of the account opening process and filling the request form to commence with analysis without delay
- Providing technical support to clients and facilitating their understanding of analyses
- Build strong lasting relationships with customers, always going the extra mile
- Complete all reports on the sales drives as requested for various ad hoc markets targeted
- Perform any other reasonable tasks as requested by management from time to time
- Matric
- BTech in Microbiology / Chemistry / Food Technology / Biotechnology
- 5 Years experience including sales and laboratory work
- Extensive technical sales experience (micro and chemical)
- Food manufacturing knowledge will be an advantage
