Position: Accountant
Based in Park Rynie (South Coast)
Salary: Negotiable
Key Responsibilities
ACCOUNTS PAYABLE
Ensure all valid creditors are paid on time.
Accurately record and report expenditure
Ensure the receipt, checking and allocation of accounts
Monitor, complete and submit payments for authorization
Input relevant information into relevant computer/ Pastel packages, recording accounts payable data for financial analysis and planning.
Produce monthly reports to trial balance for review with Finance Manager
Ensure statutory payments are made as required.
ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE
Ensure all debt are collected
Ensure the generation of invoices in Pastel
Follow up with debtors regarding due payments
Ensure the maximizing of cash flow
Produce debtors age analysis reports.
CASHBOOK
Input all receipts and payments on Pastel
Bank Reconciliation
VAT
Thorough understanding of VAT, must be able to do proper VAT recons and have better than average knowledge of e-filing.
MANAGEMENT REPORTING
Collate, compile financial information into relevant reports for Financial Manager.
Maintain the accounting filing system so that documentation is readily accessible.
Reconcile Statutory payments and reports (Creditors, Bank and VAT Recons).
Prepare relevant audit files.
Minimum Requirements
Matric and relevant financial qualification (Finance related degree/Studying towards finance related degree)
Preferably served articles
Minimum 5 years Accounting experience up to T/B.
Pastel experience is a prerequisite. Shortlisted candidates will be tested on Pastel in their interview.
