As the Accountant, you will handle end-to-end financial operations, manage payment cycles, conduct reconciliations, and ensure compliance with financial procedures. Additionally, you will contribute to payroll, assist in budget analyses, and play a crucial role in the annual financial audit, all while meeting deadlines.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Execute all financial transactions using Pastel.
- Manage the revenue cycle, which includes creating and sending invoices to clients and tracking unpaid invoices.
- Handle the expenditure cycle by entering supplier invoices and organising monthly payment batches.
- Compile monthly and weekly payment batches and aid in processing payments.
- Record all transactions from bank statements.
- Conduct month-end reconciliations for Debtors, Creditors, and General Ledger accounts.
- Assess Customer and Supplier Age Analyses and pursue overdue invoices.
- Comprehend the VAT implications of transactions and compile monthly VAT submissions.
- Manage the Fixed Asset Register, create depreciation schedules, and input monthly transactions.
- Supervise the proper filing of financial information.
- Guarantee compliance with financial procedures.
- Support in the month-end closing process.
- Aid in Payroll tasks.
- Support in preparing Cash Flow Projections and Analyses.
- Contribute to the Budget Analyses and Review Process.
- Support in preparing and completing the Annual Financial Audit.
- Assist with any additional finance information and reporting needs.
- Meet all deadlines related to duties and responsibilities.
- Bachelor of Accounting / BCom Accounting degree is essential.
- An honors degree is highly desirable.
- Qualified Professional Accountant (SA)
- In-progress SAIPA candidates or qualified AGA (SA)s with relevant day-to-day accounting experience will also be considered.
- 3 - 6 years of total experience.
- Pastel competency is highly desirable.
