Role Description
The incumbent of this role provides reinsurance accounting and claims services to clients and supports the accounting operations within the RI CFO unit. This requires effective and efficient handling of a reinsurance accounting and claims portfolio, which includes verification, processing, analysing, coordinating and administering technical accounting and claims transactions for all natures of contracts and all lines of business:
- Checking, posting and analysing reinsurance statements of account for reinsurance business
- Processing deposits
- Handling reinsurance facultative business
- Independently handling claims from our treaty and facultative business
- Processing relevant large-loss notifications
- Checking and posting reinstatement premiums
- Coordinating and handling broker business
- Performing credit control activities
- Administering payment transactions (incoming and outgoing, including compliance with any financial sanctions and current account management
- Handling treaty maintenance (accounting/claims-related issues)
- Interacting with internal and external clients to successfully bring reinsurance accounting and claim matters to conclusion
- Supporting cross-unit working groups and initiatives
- Graduate finance, accounting, insurance or completed relevant apprenticeship
- Relevant experience (2 years) of primary insurance or reinsurance
- Knowledge of the principles of accounting
- Comfortable in MS Excel and good IT skills
- Professional working proficiency in English & Portuguese essential
