Job description
We are looking for an experienced candidate to fill a management role within our accounting division.
The individual needs to be self-confident with a completed accounting degree, SAIPA/SAICA articles, and preferably 1 to 2 years post articles experience.
The candidate will work as part of a team but must also be willing to take initiative and capable of working independently. The candidate will oversee the monthly client portfolios (international and local), reviewing VAT, management accounts, performing tax submissions and compiling financial statements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Writing up of more complex accounting records of clients on Xero.
- Review monthly bookkeeping.
- Reconcile Debtors and Creditors on a monthly basis and provide training for Junior staff to reconcile Debtors and Creditors.
- Responsible for calculating VAT, PAYE and other necessary SARS/HMRC requirements on a monthly basis.
- Preparation and Review of management accounts.
- Manage and supervise staff to achieve set goals.
- Provide daily assistance, guidance and training with regards to bookkeeping, related taxes and SARS/HMRC submissions.
- Preparing accounting work relating to annual financial statements.
- Preparation and Review of financial statements.
- Performing independent reviews.
- Preparation and Review of tax returns.
- Reviewing work done by supervised staff before client review, where applicable.
- Implementation/evaluation of internal controls.
- Client interaction and relations.
- Attention to detail is very important.
Requirements:
- Must be willing to work overtime to meet client deadlines.
- Own transport and a valid drivers license.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Good communication skills.
Qualifications and experience:
- BAcc, BCom Accounting, BCompt or equivalent degree.
- Completed articles with a medium/small firm preferred.
- Qualified by experience in a firm environment.
- Working knowledge of CaseWare, Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of accounting systems (Pastel, Sage, Xero).
Remuneration:
R25 000 R30 000 TCTC
