Key Purpose
The primary element of this role is to provide support to the Conservation (Retentions) Strategy team by completing data extraction and analysis, which informs strategy development and implementation. This can also involve implementation and monitoring of strategies.
Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to
- Extract data and analyze to determine key trends in Distribution, product take-up, lapses, Vitality engagement and other areas
- Brainstorming and researching new and emerging fields to provide input for innovative solutions
- Utilize technical product knowledge, including understanding of competitors, to identify business opportunities
- Motivate and support Conservation (Retentions) related initiatives within different prioritization forums, drive implementation thereof in a timely and effective manner
- Set up and check monitoring to determine effectiveness of strategy; to determine updates to current strategies and drive further strategies
Education and Experience
- Matric with Mathematics
- Relevant Bachelors/Honours degree in Actuarial Science from an accredited institution
- At least 6 or more exams passed
- Working experience as an Actuarial Analyst in the Life Insurance industry
Technical Skills and Knowledge
- Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook
- Effective communications skills
- Strong data analysis skills
- Problem Solving skills
- Knowledge of the Life Insurance market
- Experience in coding, monitoring and reporting
