Key Purpose

Liaising with sales, systems and operations to enable cross selling across the entire Discovery Insure product suite through the research, development and implementation of innovative Value Added and Ancillary products.

Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to

Business Owner Accountable For:
  • Current state assessment to identify gaps and improvement in processes; Identify gaps between current and future-state capabilities (skills).
  • Identifying and build future demand scenarios and target setting.
  • Developing turnaround strategy & executing the strategy.
  • Analytics & reporting.
  • Sales, marketing, systems, product development and operations teams liaisons and targets setting.
  • Retentions.
  • Penetration per client (i.e., optimise lifetime client value).
  • Risk management.
  • Technology accelerators.
  • Transformation, training & governance.

Education
  • Matric (Essential)
  • Nearly qualified or newly qualified actuary

  • Modelling skills preferred
  • Ability to work in at least one of the following languages:
  • SQL
  • VBA
  • Python
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) advanced level of Excel
  • Ability to simplify ambiguous information
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Leadership qualities
  • Project and people management
  • Statistical knowledge
  • Analytical capabilities
Experience
  • 2-5 years actuarial/technical experience working with data and analytics
  • Ability to build models and work in various programming languages
  • Demonstrate an ability to multi-task and work in an unstructured environment
  • Out-of-the-box thinking and ability to get buy-in from stakeholders
