ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Africa Activists Manager will co-lead the Champions programmes across Africa. They will develop tools and initiatives to strengthen the African activists' programmes to connect them to the ONE's campaigns on development finance and with ONE's activists' program in Europe and North America. They will also get the opportunity to build out a new strategy for the African Champions that includes an accountability track for African Champions to hold African leaders accountable for their spend of development finances.
They will be a motivated self-starter with experience in creative communications, marketing, campaigns, volunteer and project management. They will be a flexible and enthusiastic team player with a track record of delivering results in a fast-moving environment.
The Africa Activists Manager will report to the Executive Director Africa and will be based in either Dakar, Abuja, or Johannesburg.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
- Develop and refine the strategy for the African activists programme to include a pan-African approach
- Work in collaboration with market teams and support the coordination of activists to work with other Activists in Europe and North America on ONE Campaigns
- Increase the voice and agency of African activists in global and local platforms campaigning on ONE's issues
- Support the implementation of a system to organise and track volunteer actions and activities with a data-driven approach
- Focus on impact and measuring the ROI of our activists work
- Implement initiative to equip and train activists through the learning management tools, action tracker etc
- Identify future opportunities to highlight activists work within and outside ONE
- Support the implementation and organisation of a database to organise and track all information pertaining to activists, including running reports to assess the status of activists input and impact
- Identify and develop partnerships to provide training, mobilisation and advocacy skill for activists
- Increase the visibility of activists with more audiences by increasing networks, followers, partnerships, etc.
- Create an internal cohesive community for activists in Africa and with Europe and North America
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- A minimum of 6 years relevant professional experience in the field of communications, marketing, campaigning
- Strong sense of teamwork and collaboration
- Demonstrable experience working with volunteers in several regions
- Very strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in managing projects and organizing large public events
- Experience in building partnerships with influencing stakeholders and establishing and maintaining strong networks
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with strong attention to detail
- Able to work under pressure and with tight deadlines
- Line management experience would be desirable
- A commitment and dedication to ONE's mission
- Experience with Microsoft Suites - Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and proficiency in learning and utilising online databases, platforms, tools etc.
- An understanding of the complexities surrounding collaboration in a global matrix organization

Fluency in French and English is required.
TRAVEL
Travel up to 30% international and/or domestic.
