The Purpose of the Role
The Sales Director demonstrates accountability for driving growth for the organization through application of business strategy. In this role you will integrate processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within a functional area of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and defining winning strategies and driving growth through the respective sales team.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute on assigned operating plan and targets to assure that business meets or exceeds AOP
- Operate sales excellence through diligent use and application of the sales process and operating system
- Ensure regional forecast is accurate monthly forecast is within 3%
- Drive to improve on quarterly linearity targets
- Build and develop a high talent sales organization
- Build influential relationships with internal customers at all levels and develop strategies to win profitable business
- Build customer relationships for the purpose of Business development and Sales
- Develop customer strategies, campaign plans, and leadership in their execution
- Integrate information, resources, and activities within the region and/or among global regions
- Demonstrate commercial and technical expertise in specific market
- Own regional input for planning and forecasting
- Drive strategy and growth initiatives within the region
- Direct the sales team to identify and develop opportunities driving growth
- Prior experience of working within an international multinational organization will be distinct advantage
- Experience of managing a large solutions focused sales organization across Africa
- Prior experience of working with African based EPCs and customers in the process solutions industries.
- Strong sales director and business leadership knowledge and skills
- Strong background in developing and managing high talent teams
- Customer-focused mindset with proven ability to respond quickly to customer needs
- Strong coordination and influencing skills
- Knowledge of customer financial drivers / needs
- Able to effectively lead and energize a multi-functional team to meet sales plan
- Ability to utilize analytical software and sales tool
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- 15 plus years of business leadership
- 10 years of senior sales experience within the process industries
- Engineering and/or business degree qualified
- Proven track record in growing business
