SeeSaw is looking for a developer to join our small but growing team in our bustling office located in Cape Town's Long Street.
As a relatively new and growing social enterprise, the selected candidate will have the opportunity to gain real world experience developing applications in Java and JavaScript within a flexible, paid position.
SeeSaw has a unique and agile platform based on Android and JavaScript apps, CouchDB, and Google Docs that integrates with many other cutting-edge cloud based solutions. This position will offer you plenty of scope to experiment and improve your skills, and collaborate and innovate with people from across the globe.
We are looking for more than just a developer—we want someone smart and who has plenty of their own initiative and imagination. Because we are a small team, we need someone who is able to take a project from initial idea to full roll-out and support.
Qualifications:
- Hons. degree or higher university qualification
- Minimum one year coding experience (with preference given to node.js and JavaScript tech stack experience)
- Proficiency using Spreadsheet applications (Microsoft Excel, Google sheets)
- Experience utilising databases (with preference given to candidates who are knowledgeable of NoSQL datastores)
- Linux experience (we have 5 cloud-based linux servers)
- Nginx experience a plus
- Java experience (Android or other) a plus
- Python experience a plus
