Job Description
As part of this team, you will be expected to successfully manage these duties:
- Management of the equipment within the process control domain
- Best practice for instrumentation developed within relevant legal and safety frameworks.
- Audit high risk and safety critical areas Identify areas of poor availability
- Conducting modifications to the control solution for process problems
- System troubleshooting and hardware problems resolution.
- Support on existing instrumentation, networks and hardware
- Calibration and maintenance of all equipment within the control solution Schedule and prioritize maintenance tasks.
- Control monthly maintenance budgets for process control section
- Assist with commissioning for on-site projects.
- National technical diploma or NQF level 6 equivalent or qualification in Instrumentation
- Qualified as an Instrumentation Mechanician with a Trade Test Certificate
- Foreman certificate advantageous
- Registered as a Professional Engineering Technician with ECSA - advantageous
Skills:
- Computer literacy Word Outlook and Excel
- English literate - Speak, Read and Write
- Good decision making skills
- Valid driving license with own vehicle
- Knowledge of applicable laws, standards and specifications
- Supervisory experience 5 years as an Instrumentation Technician
- 3 years Smelter or Heavy Industry experience
- Siemens PCS7 experiences:
- Meeting timescales
- Managing tasks
- Following procedures
- Interpreting data
- Taking action
- Employee Relations
- Required to work overtime and be on standby
- Must be medically fit - will be Working at Heights
