We are the front line of the Anti-Fraud team and we ensure that fraud cases are dealt with appropriately and on time. We keep the bad guys out and the good guys in. Your role in a nutshell:
As a fraud investigator in the Triage and Support team, you will manage incoming alerts and provide fraud related support to various internal and external stakeholders. You will report to the Fraud Triage & Support team lead in South Africa and work closely with other Anti-Financial Crime team members to help support cross-department operational initiatives to detect and prevent abuse. You are our liaison with our external parties, you care deeply about preventing fraud and are always on the lookout for new trends and events.

Your mission will involve:
- Responding to incoming queries from our banks, payment partners and other Lunauts pertaining to fraud;
- Liaising between various internal and external stakeholders including legal, law enforcement, investigators, banks and victims;
- Reviewing accounts and transactions for potentially fraudulent activity and take quick, decisive action;
- Proactively identifying and monitoring fraud patterns;
- Managing time sensitive workflows across competing priorities;
- Interacting with customers to understand unusual account activity;
- Providing investigative support for various teams;
- Identifing areas of improvement in Lunos products to ensure our continued customer security and safety;
- Working with a high degree of independence;
- Keeping detailed logs of incidents and preparing regular and ad-hoc reports.
- A relevant qualification from an accredited institution
- Relevant work experience within a relevant sector (e.g. Fintech, cryptocurrency exchange, payment processor or forensics firm)
- Attention to detail, strong sense of responsibility and very high level of integrity
- Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to think outside the box
- Excellent report writing skills
- A basic understanding of cryptocurrencies
- An existing, valid work permit for South Africa, if youre not a South African citizen
- Have an insatiable curiosity about cryptocurrencies and have hands-on experience with multiple blockchains and exchanges
- Have hands-on experience related to digital forensics, cybersecurity, dark web, OSINT, counter-terrorism, financial crime, insider threat, and/or legal proceedings.
- You have additional relevant qualifications, such as CAMS or CFE;
