Job Description
The Directorate: e-Government for Citizens (E-G4C) forms part of the Department of the Premier. E-G4C manages the Western Cape Government website, which is a single point of access to government information and services for citizens of the Western Cape.

Through African Ideas, E-G4C is seeking to hire an Application Tester. The core purpose of the Application Tester is to ensure that the end-to-end testing of the Digital Experience Platform (DXP), functionality is completed as per the project plan. The DXP, at its core, is a Drupal web platform that will integrate with other web systems. Extensive testing, including system integration testing (SIT), process integration testing (PIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT), will be required throughout the project to ensure that the project is executed without any changes, errors or issues & that the business can continue with as little disruption as possible.

The role of the Application Tester encompasses many activities, including (but not limited to):

• Identify, develop and execute test scenarios, test cases and test packs
• Perform test analysis, write and execute test cases
• Analyze errors and log incidents
• Liaise with business and project team on errors, issues & risks
• Provide documented feedback on test findings to team
• Interpret and communicate results
• Test data on different tools has used test specialist tools successfully e.g. QTP, load runner.

Qualifications:

• Degree (IT)
• Minimum of 3 years experience as a tester in web based software application development
• Relevant IT Testing related qualification
• Agile experience
• Experience at testing Web Content Management Systems, such as Drupal advantageous
• Experience in software testing, including methodologies, test cases development and execution
