ASSESSMENT/CRISIS THERAPIST
General Description
The Center for Children and Families Therapeutic Services Assessment/Crisis Therapist is responsible for assessing and completing all assessments and intake paperwork. This position also handles Crisis cases as needed and assists in Crisis coverage for the rest of the staff. The Assessment/Crisis Therapist is supervised by the Therapeutic Services Clinical Director. This is a full-time contractor position.
Qualifications
The Assessment/Crisis Therapist should have the following skills and experience:
- M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling or Social Work or equivalent degree preferred; experience with families and children preferred.
- Must have obtained LCSW, LMFT or LPC License.
- Willingness to provide hands-on, in-home concrete services.
- Must have respect for cultural differences and families' rights to self-determination.
- Must be able to assess situations quickly, and have sufficient ingenuity to cope with limited resources.
- Ability to work well in a team setting.
- The ability to adjust to various types of tasks and work cooperatively with different types of personalities.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- High standard of personal integrity and work ethic.
- Thorough understanding of all treatment and other contract programs and an intimate knowledge of program procedures and policies.
- The ability to build and maintain relationships with outside agencies.
- The ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
- Commitment to The Center for Children and Families and Therapeutic Services Division goals and mission.
The Assessment/Crisis Therapist is hired by the Therapeutic Services Clinical Director. The Assessment/Crisis Therapist reports directly to the Clinical Director who is responsible for his/her performance evaluations.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate acceptable level of commitment to the Core Values and Mission of The Center for Children and Families.
- Maintain all confidential information.
- Complete all necessary training.
- Provide assistance to the Clinical Director/FFT Program Coordinator and therapists as needed and when requested.
- Attend staff meetings and assist in the evaluation of the program.
- Generate and maintain case notes and treatment plans.
- Provide Crisis Intervention Services as needed.
- Complete all paperwork in a timely manner.
- Provide assistance and consultation for other staff members as needed and when requested.
- Complete work time sheets weekly.
- Coordination, development, and implementation of administrative services including, but not limited to, the referral process, collateral relationships, intake and billing processes, case advocacy, and contract services.
- Establish and maintain exemplary working relationships with local and regional collaterals and referral sources.
- Edit and review all completed assessments and intake paperwork.
- Attend weekly staffing with Clinical Director to review all active assessments.
- Perform staff performance evaluations
- Assist Therapeutic Services Clinical Director in program development and other daily duties.
- Collaborate respectfully with all agency staff.
- Attend all trainings, meetings, retreats as directed by the Clinical Director.
- Other duties assigned by Clinical Director and Chief Development Officer of The Center for Children and Families.
