JOB DESCRIPTION:
To lead and manage the Assessment department under the direction of the academic manager to provide accurate, effective, and responsive services to the internal business and its student’s. This job focuses on operational efficiencies and efficacies to ensure the end-to-end process runs without delays and in compliance with regulatory body standards.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:
3 – 5 years an academic management role
Degree
2 years’ experience in assessments
Deep understanding of regulatory body requirements and deadlines across various product offerings
Experience in managing relationships with Government educational bodies
National and international assessment practices, policies and procedures, financial management, project management, people management
Experienced and Registered Assessor and / or Moderator.
High level of competency in MS Office, particularly Word and Excel
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Managing and quality assuring adherence to formative and summative policies as well as the management and quality assurance of per and post-assessment processes and analysis of assessment logistics, including results. Managing the venue and logistics sector for venue management, security, storage, distribution, and receipt of all assessment documents (question papers, assignments, POE’s, projects). Chairs the Examination Committee and is a member of, inter alia, the Examination Board and the Academic/Board Committee.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
Assisting in the design and implementation of policies, procedures, and quality standards for the Division.
Managing adherence to assessment processes, timelines, and deadlines
Managing adherence to quality standards, policy, and legislation requirements regarding the preparation for examinations and examination question papers and assignment and POE.
Managing adherence to assessment integrity and ensuring that the implemented assessment process, question papers, memos, assignments, POE’s and projects comply with policy, procedural and legislation requirements
Managing post-analysis of assessment processes, including assessment results coordination
Managing staff performance and delivery
Managing general administration
Managing internal and external communications
Financial management
Ad hoc duties.
