Assistant Catering Manager

Our client is seeing an experienced Assistant Catering Manager to join the Grahamstown team,
  • Lead and motivate a team of catering staff,
  • Provide training, guidance, and performance evaluations to ensure a high-performing and cohesive team.
  • Plan and coordinate catering services for a variety of events,
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their specific requirements and preferences.
  • Create and update diverse menus that cater to different tastes, dietary restrictions, and cultural preferences.
  • Work closely with chefs to ensure the highest quality of food and presentation.
  • Develop and manage catering budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and profitability.
  • Monitor expenses, negotiate supplier contracts, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Maintain strict quality control measures to ensure the consistency and excellence of catering services.
  • Conduct regular inspections and evaluations to uphold hygiene and safety standards.
Requirements
  • Grade 12
  • Degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field preferred,
  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience
  • Valid drivers license
  • Familiarity with relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours,
