Job Purpose
Provincial Treasury, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a comptent individual to establish and maintain uniform SCM policy, norms and standards, governance mechanisms and enforce compliance.This post is based in Cape Town, CBD.
Minimum Requirements
An appropriate 3-year B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification) in Supply Chain Management or Public Administration; A minimum of 3 years functional experience in Supply Chain Management; A valid (Code B or higher) driving licence.

Recommendation
Experience in the following: CIDB/ construction procurement; Developing and implementing policies and prescripts; Business intelligence analytic capability.
Key Performance Areas
Develop, review and continuously improve SCM policies, strategies, systems, best practices, norms and standards; Provide advice, guidance and support on implementation of SCM policy, norms and standards; Establish SCM governance mechanisms and enforce compliance; Monitor and enforce compliance; Monitor, evaluate and report on SCM system and supplier performance
Competencies
Knowledge of the following: Public sector SCM legislation, policies and procedures; Skills needed: Written and verbal communication; Proven computer literacy; Project management; Economic and financial analysis; Analysing; Presenting and communicating information; Learning and researching; Applying expertise and technology.
Remuneration
R 444 036 per annum (Salary level 9)
Note on remuneration: Service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
