Job Purpose:
- Direct responsibility for building your local GNB portfolio of clients based in Cape Town as well as well as other parts of South Africa, and elevating the presence of Citi and GNB within the country through disciplined calling and encouraging the outside Citi network to focus on your country
- Working closely with product partners to deliver one-Citi
- Develop both professional and personal relationships to solidify relationships with clients
- Capture all the GNB names that are present in your country
- Deal origination and customer acquisition is a core responsibility

- The GNB RM is a key member of a unique global relationship network that is widely regarded by global players as being best-in-class in terms of client coverage and delivery of banking solutions in over 100 countries
- The GNB RM acts as the central client contact in the country / region and orchestrates the local delivery and execution of the Banks broad spectrum of products and services
- Manage and grow a challenging client portfolio that demands a range of Citi product solutions and credit knowledge
- Build strong relationships with your client portfolio, enabling access to all levels of the client organization
- Work closely with internal partners to develop innovative solutions to meet specific client needs. Implement and execute complex solutions and coordinate / lead deal teams
- Understand, and effectively manage, Citis capabilities to increase and maximize the share of wallet. Originate new opportunities for cross-sell and safeguard existing client business
- Assess credit and market risk of transactions
- Manage the delivery of the network by providing a consistent coverage approach to these global clients by working closely with Global Banking parent coverage partners, providing network forums to facilitate communication, and ensuring product partner connectivity across ICG including TTS, FICC, Citi@Work, etc.
- Implement calling plans, call tracking, and joint pipeline reviews to ensure maximum deal origination is taking place across the entire client base
- Market and execute deals using a coordinated approach to with relevant product partners
- Understand the dynamics of the local financial markets, banking industry and regulatory environment
- Know your competition and be able to provide critical input to win transactions
- Manage clients expectations and effectively engage in difficult discussions with clients
- Analyse performance results interpret and adapt strategy to optimise services and financial performance
- The GNB franchise in the country is usually a significant part of the local country revenues

- In-depth understanding of Banking products: Loans, FX, Derivatives, Cash Management, Trade

- Relationship coverage experience within banking or a financial services organization
- Strong proven financial and business acumen
- Proven knowledge of industry sectors
- Knowledge of accounting, legal and compliance principles and procedures relating to the role
- Solid knowledge about Credit
- Business degree
- Excellent business development and relationship management skills
