PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The incumbent should be available to play a leading role in the research conducted within the school of Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering.
Job Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaching & Learning
- Preparation of study guides and subject material.
- Supervisor for M and PhD studies and Research
- Development of and involvement in community and commercialization initiatives.
- Development of specialist programs that directly addresses industry needs.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- A PhD in Engineering with specialisation in Electrical / Electronic / Computer / Mechatronic Engineering OR Applied Mathematics (NQF 10).
- A B.Eng. degree in Electrical / Electronic / Computer / Mechatronic Engineering (NQF 8).
- A minimum of 10 years experience in Teaching & Learning and Research.
- Registration with ECSA as Pr Eng.
- NRF Rating
- Teaching and Learning experience in the undergraduate and postgraduate fields.
- Leadership skills
- Good management skills and ability to operate under pressure
- Research skills
- Computer literacy in relevant packages
- Advanced work precision and good organizational ability
- The ability to function optimally in a rapidly changing environment
- Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and high-pressure work environment
