Our client requires the services of an Operations Engineer (Entry) - Rosslyn

POSITION: Contract until December 2024

EXPERIENCE: 2-4 Years related working experience.

COMMENCEMENT: As soon as possible

Qualifications/Experience

• South African citizens/residents are preferred.
• Minimum 2-3 years experience in Production/manufacturing system operations environment.
• Oracle Database knowledge (advantageous).
• UNIX / Linux experience (advantageous).
• Unix Shell scripting experience (advantageous).
• Speaking German.
• Agile experience (advantageous).
• JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, X-RAY

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong ability to understand and interpret Business needs and requirements with the ability to move concepts through to proposal and finally successful implementation.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to communicate effectively (both verbally and written) with both technical and non-technical colleagues/users.
• Should be willing to deal with (talk to) our customers. In most cases, they will be foreign customers and language barriers might exist.
• Ability to work as part of a team, interdependent as well as independently and submit deliverables on time and in excellent quality. SELF STARTER.
• Above board work ethics this is of utmost importance.
• Flexibility to take up different tasks in the project.

Advantageous Technical Skills

• Development and maintenance on Platform/application.
• Meet with end users and gather requirements.
• Facilitate stand-ups.
• Propose and review system design and evaluate.
• Alternatives.
• Review and present to Product Owners.
• Support systems solutions in line with quality and delivery requirements
• Preparation of system/technical documentation (as per ISO standards)
• User training
• System testing/parallel runs
• System implementation
• System audits/quality assurance

ROLE:

• Full DevOps and Request Management.
• Support Production systems (24/7 Standby)
• System monitoring and maintenance.
• Incident and Request Management (PIC processes).
• Operating System is Unix.
• Oracle database queries.
• Projects and IPS Upgrades.
