This person will be responsible for providing professional and specialised network installation and support services to the Sales division, to provide network installation and support that meet our customer needs, in particular the IT LAN / Wireless environment
Role Requirements
The Network Engineer will be responsible for all or part of these areas:
- Installation of network LAN/Wireless solutions
- Support of network LAN/Wireless solutions
- Troubleshoot network issues, ensure network security, create and configure network solutions
- Deploy best practices, standards, and processes to deliver network ICT solutions
- Technical implementation of network proposals
- Assess customer Network performance
- Provide 1st and 2nd line network support
- Conduct technical LAN / wireless consultations to customers
- Provide Technical Consultation to Account Managers and Project Managers
- Facilitate customer technical LAN / wireless workshops
- Provide internal technical product training / updates to peers and Sales team
- Keeping LAN / wireless certification up to date
- Knowledge of LAN / wireless standards
- Knowledge of Cisco / Meraki / Ruckus LAN / wireless products essential
- Ability to work in high stakes environments with multiple senior stakeholders and with a cross industry focus
- Matric Certificate essential
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent
- 2-4 years relevant experience essential within telecommunication industry
- 2-4 years in the IT industry and/or a system/network admin role.
- 2-4 years working experience with LAN / wireless products / solutions
- 2-4 years working experience in related LAN / wireless technologies
- Must have comprehensive knowledge with Cisco LAN / wireless products (or equivalent)
- Design and implementation of network and wireless infrastructures
- Working knowledge of Radius, Active Directory and Location Based Services like Cisco CMX or Ruckus vSPOT.
- Detailed networking implementation skills with in depth knowledge
