The overall purpose of this role is to perform a series of tasks to ensure the companys financial security, accountable for all financial matters and thus assisting in managing the overall business and controlling the environment and strategy.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
- Overseeing the complete financial function of the County Fair operation;
- Deadline-driven financial reporting i.e. month end reports, financial forecasting, year-end reports, budgets, and strategic planning;
- Asset management: fixed assets, stock, cash, provisions, debtors and creditors;
- Overall responsibility for financial and management accounting;
- Management of financial risk and insurance;
- Tax computation and reports;
- Keep up to date with financial developments i.e. in the accounting and tax fields;
- Responsibility for and the Management of on-site IT and Financial Systems;
- Responsibility for the review, implementation, and management of the internal control environment;
- Preparation and review of capital expenditure requests and project control;
- Ensure compliance with all corporate governance and group policies;
- Management of staff according to budgetary controls, company policies, internal control matrix, and sound management principles;
- Attendance at various senior management level meetings (Executive, Steering Committees, Audit committees, risk, etc).
- CA qualification with a minimum of 5 years of manufacturing or FMCG experience;
- 10 years of relevant financial management experience;
- Must have experience in budgeting procedures, financial reporting including Tax and VAT, cost analysis and standard costing, and capital application processing, with previous experience of working in an integrated business which includes biological assets would be an advantage;
- Advanced knowledge in the use of financial software applications and databases;
- Microsoft Office Suite Advanced or Professional;
- Must be fluent in English & and Afrikaans (knowledge of other languages would be advantageous);
- Key requirements include being commercially sound, deadline-driven, and paying attention to detail;
- The ideal candidate should be hardworking, honest, self-motivated, and disciplined and be able to work under extreme pressure;
- It is essential that the candidate have a passion for implementing and maintaining a continuous workplace improvement program (20 Keys);
- The chosen candidate must be proactive, and have good management, communication, and interpersonal skills as well as problem-solving and planning skills;
- The ability to build a strong finance team, and train and develop staff, together with personal and professional integrity are key requirements;
- Code 08 drivers license and reliable transport are essential.
