Area: Olivedale
Childrens Ages: son nearly 2 years old and newborn due in March 2024 (minimal assistance for the newborn but care for both children will be needed from August 2024).
Working hours: Mother's work week is flexible so it would be helpful is this can be accommodated. If there are changes, this will be communicated at the beginning of the week. Each week would be a 38 hour week. This would give you an indication of the hours:
Monday, Wednesday and Thursday: 08h00 17h00, Tuesday: 07h30 11h30, Friday: 08h00 15h00.
Start date: Only 14 days assistance are needed in December, from the 4 December 2023. 5 January 2024 start. Permanent contract, to be evaluated after 3 months and then annually.
Duties: looking after child while mother is working (please note mother will be working from home on most days); providing educational entertainment, care and stimulation for child's development; feeding, changing and bathing child - and all that that entails. Putting the child to sleep. Walking around with putting children's dishes in the dishwasher and clothes in the washing machine.
Fetching granny on Tuesdays mornings. Tuesdays would include fetching granny hence the earlier start time. If, for some reason, we are unable to drop granny off in the evening, you may be asked if you are able to do the drop off. In that case, the Tuesdays hours would change to 07h30 17h30, and the remaining hours for the week would be reduced to ensure 38 hours are met. Granny stays in Bergbron, Roodepoort. Must be willing to work independently as well as being able to work with granny when she is there. Occasionally, running errands (if needed) i.e. Grocery shopping for nappies or formula.
Requirements: Must be willing to adhere to the infection control procedures within the household i.e. regularly washing hands, keeping hair tied back. Must be willing to wear a mask if sneezing or coughing. Must bring an extra set of clean clothes to wear during working hours, when interacting with the children. Preferably Christian (as the family is Catholic). Has a valid drivers license and a car. Must love children.
Optional: Has some educational qualifications or can teach Baby educational games. Knows infant first aid. Personality type traits: Positive, energetic, organized, flexible, dependable, willingness to learn, honesty.
Salary: R13 000 per month plus petrol
All Au Pair Extraordinaire applicants must fill the following requirements:
- Must have at least 12 consecutive months of formal child caring experience, excluding work done for friends and family. This experience must be within the last 2 years.
- Must have their own, reliable car and at least 18 months driving experience.
- Must have at least 2 contactable childcare references.
- Must have a clear criminal record

- Must have a South African ID document.
