NSF is a leader in Food Safety inspections and certification in the Food Industry. The Africa head-office is based in Stellenbosch, operating throughout the continent helping retail organizations set standards, understand expectations, change behaviour and ensure public health through periodic food safety audits and inspections of food handling sites to customer prescribed requirements.
We would like to expand our retail audit team with the addition of a Retail Auditor based in Free State area, ideally in Kimberley or Bloemfontein.
Job Specification
- Conduct food safety inspections/audits at retail stores
- Coaching / training at clients sites
- Summarize and evaluate inspection/audit findings
- Communicate findings/results of inspections/audits with client site management or appropriate client representatives
- Collect food, product or environmental samples from client sites and ship samples to appropriate laboratories for testing
- Develop effective work plans for the completion of assigned inspections/audits within a determined timeframe
- Establish and maintain effective communication with key team members including audit delivery and client teams
- Perform other duties as requested
- Minimum of 3 years work experience as food safety auditor or quality related role in a food manufacturing environment (post qualification) or retail enviroment
- Tertiary qualification in a food related discipline with preference to food science, food technology, microbiology, public health or related discipline.
- Microbiology (can be part of formal qualification)
- Product and swab sampling procedures for laboratory analysis
- Training in auditor skills
- Familiarity with South African food safety regulations
- Knowledge of food safety basics: temperatures, proper food handling, sanitation, proper cooling methods
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Valid drivers license and own reliable vehicle
- Be able to travel at least 2 week consecutively
- Previous retail and restaurant audit experience
- Train the Trainer or equivalent professional training qualification
- HACCP training to intermediate level
- Restaurant / Hospitality operations experience
- Lead Auditor qualification
