Were looking for bank Radiology Department Assistants to join our Imaging team at the Harborne Hospital. The Harborne Hospital is a brand new, state-of-the-art, 100 million hospital built from partnership between University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust and HCA Healthcare UK, located on the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Campus, Birmingham. Once opened it will be providing a comprehensive range of services including complex care with facilities including 50 inpatient beds, 16 day case beds and 4 state-of-the-art theatres. Were bringing world class consultants and leading healthcare professionals together in a truly impressive, modern facility to help us deliver the best treatment pathways to the midlands.
We have reached an exciting stage in our recruitment journey where we are now looking for RDAs/Imaging Assistants to join our Bank in readiness for The Harborne Hospital opening to patients in January 2024.
Job Description
As a Healthcare Assistant in the Radiology Department you will assist with day to day duties across the Radiology service, supporting procedures, meeting and greeting patients, completing necessary documentation and help maintain the smooth running of the department.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Organize workloads including charging patients, chaperoning patients when required and dealing with all necessary paperwork.
- To assist the radiographers in preparing patients for all imaging procedures as necessary.
- To assist with moving patients within the department as necessary.
- To assist with setting up for procedures as required.
- To assist in maintaining the tidiness and cleanliness of the department.
- To help with the maintenance of stock levels in all rooms e.g. linen etc and consumables etc.
- To collect and escort in-patients to and from the department.
- To rotate between departments/ areas/modalities as required.
- Respond appropriately to accidents or untoward incidents/occurrences that arise within the unit and provide accurate documentation.
- To be conversant with all local policies and procedures and to act accordingly.
- Ensure the safety of patients and staff and ensure that all incidents are reported to the Manager.
- Ensure that all equipment is used safely and effectively. Experience of working with members of the public is essential.
What Youll Bring
- UK Hospital experience essential
- Radiology experience is preferred
- Care certificate or equivalent Essential
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Exceptional communication and organisation skills.
- Strong IT skills
