The successful incumbent will serve as the strategic interface with assigned business units or functional area for the purpose of the Bank technology strategy development, solution discovery, service management, risk management and relationship management. Provide highly valued strategic consulting level support and guidance through key IT initiatives. Communicate decisions, priorities and relevant project information to appropriate levels of staff regarding business unit requests and projects and initiatives.
Proactively share knowledge of technology risks and opportunities to build competitive advantage and improve efficiency and effectiveness of business units. Partner with business leadership and other key stakeholders to define opportunities and identify and prioritize projects based on predefined criteria (e.g., return on investment, productivity, compliance). Serve as a trusted advisor, and a primary IT point of contact to business executives and managers.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Business Administration equivalent and or equivalent
- 10 to 15 years of IT and business/industry work experience
- 5 -8 years management experience
- 5 years developing and executing strategic plans and/or project portfolios
- Project Management experience (Ideal)
FINANCE
- Control and manage costs in line with the Business Unit and bank budget expectations
- Develop and maintain productive and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, in order to support achievement of Business Unit outcomes.
- Partner with the business unit to provide consultancy and advisory services related to requests for new technology services
- Proactively serve as a trusted advisor, and act as the primary IT point of contact to Bank stakeholders.
Strategy, design and solutions
- Provide strategic thought leadership with regards to the role IT plays in executing the business strategy
- Develop strategic roadmap for the business units with a clear link to the business strategy and to ensure successful introductions across the Bank and with stakeholders.
- Lead the translation of strategy into the development of business architecture deliverables to ensure alignment with Bank strategies and architecture frameworks.
- Work with integration and supplier architects to design solutions that support the business processes and assist with the alignment of supporting technology roadmaps.
- Oversee the launch of solutions and help to maximize the positive impact on the Business Unit
- Actively contribute to IT strategy implementations and ongoing refinement activities in line with Bank goals.
- Strive to understand market challenges, including customer priorities and competitive issues
- Provide support in delivering technology products that meet the needs of the business
- Collaborate with program/project teams to reconcile solutions to Bank architecture.
- Provide thought leadership on the future of technology as it relates to the Bank, proactive in getting to grips with leading edge technologies and understanding their potential.
- Ensure the business is aware of emerging trends, practice and technologies in the marketplace and how they may contribute to business outcomes and strategies.
- Actively identify and champion innovation initiatives supporting the Bank strategy.
- Involve external parties where needed to further develop and eventually implement innovation supporting the business strategy
