The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of both our websites and mobile (iOS & Android) applications. You will need to show that you can understand client & project requirements; identify UX and UI design issues whilst testing; and ideally have proven experience working with any of the following CMS platforms: WordPress, Umbraco, or Optimizely. This role requires a hands-on QA tester with expertise in both manual and automated testing environments.
The Bluegrass QA Manager will oversee your work and you will work very closely with other teams including Project Managers; Developers; and Designers.
Required Skills
- 3+ years' experience in QA testing for web and mobile applications
- Proven hands-on experience with CMS platforms, with Optimizely, Umbraco, or WordPress being very advantageous
- Proficient with responsive website cross browser testing
- Proficient using browser Developer Tools for performance and cosmetic testing
- Proficiency in automation testing, with tools such as Playwright, Detox, and Selenium being very advantageous
- Familiarity with a development IDE's, like Visual Studio Code or similar
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, including Kanban and Scrum
- Experience using JIRA for defect tracking
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate technical issues to non-technical stakeholders
- ISTQB Foundation certification is advantageous
- Understanding of SEO and how to test SEO technical aspects from a QA perspective
- Razor sharp eye for detail you should have a creative eye and the ability to review designs against the final product and pick out those minuscule 1 pixel off bugs and inherently understand when something feels wrong' within the user experience
- Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases for web and mobile applications
- Conceive and replicate test scenarios to break the application for different scenarios
- Perform both manual and automated testing to identify, document, and track bugs
- Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure the delivery of high-quality products.
- Load and test content within CMS platforms such as Optimizely, Umbraco, WordPress, and Drupal
- Master and use testing tools like Playwright, Detox, and Postman to automate test cases and enhance test coverage
- Report and manage defects using JIRA and collaborate with the development team for prompt resolution
- Participate in Agile methodologies, including Kanban and Scrum, to deliver projects on time
- Proficient with responsive web cross-browser testing
- Conduct API testing using tools like Postman (advantageous)
- Conduct performance tests using available tools like browser Dev Tools, Google Lighthouse, and GTmetrix
- Manually test applications against defined user stories and business logic.
- Develop strong 'hands-on' debugging abilities with a talent for putting yourself in the user's shoes to troubleshoot both functional and usability issues.
- Test website applications for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices
- Complete monthly client Platform Operations (including regression testing), as per agreed SLA client retainers
- Functional Testing manually test applications against defined user stories and business logic. Develop strong 'hands-on' debugging abilities with a talent for putting yourself in the user's shoes to troubleshoot both functional and usability issues
- Scenario Testing you should be an out-the-box thinker and able to conceive and replicate test scenarios, whilst trying to break the application for different scenarios
- Client Contracts on occasion and when required you may be put forwards for key client contracts where you will perform your QA duties in line with the clients requirements on a fulltime basis, and reporting into client project stakeholders daily. You will be supported as much as is required by the entire Bluegrass team.
