Job Summary

Reporting to the Financial Accountant/Administrator, the Bookkeeper will be responsible for the full creditors, debtors and cash book functions of the organization. The successful candidate will be based in Woodstock, Cape Town.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

In order to be shortlisted for this role, you have the following skills and experience, but not limited to:-
  • Matric certificate (Grade 12)
  • Relevant bookkeeping or accounting qualification (e.g., Certificate in Bookkeeping, Diploma in Accounting)
  • 2+ years of experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role
Job Description

The role responsibilities will include, but not limited to:-

Full Creditors function of the organisation
  • Perform supplier reconciliation in preparing requisitions for payments
  • Ensure invoices are accurately captured on a daily basis
  • Ensure that the banking details on supplier invoices match that of the creditor being paid
  • Perform monthly supplier reconciliations to support all payments to approved suppliers;
  • Deal with queries from creditors;
Full Debtors function of the organisation
  • Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
  • Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, coding, posting and recording accounts receivables data
  • Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted
  • Verify discrepancies by and resolve clients billing issues
  • Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending reminders and contacting customers
Full Cash Book function of the organisation
  • Bank reconciliations of the bank accounts
  • Capture day to day financial transactions, including verifying, coding, posting and recording cash book data
  • Assist in preparing Cash Flow forecast
