Working closely with the Trade Marketing Manager, you will report to the Category and Customer Executive. The Brand Manager will need to juggle multiple brands at various stages of marketing strategy. Within the mix you will have more established brands as well as brands that need a big helping hand to bring them up to speed and align to the Category and Customer strategies for these brands.
You will be the brand and category champion within the business, building passion, belief and excitement and to achieve this, you will:
- Support marketing and category teams with the development of the brand strategy in alignment with the overall long-term company goals
- Be accountable for category-specific below the line marketing material from briefing agencies to execution and monitoring stock levels
- Execute elements of brand innovation & renovation plans in relation to the Gate process, including line extensions
- Monitor and actively grow in market share performance
- Build strong internal cross-functional relationships with Commercial, Supply Chain, the factory and Business Support
- Be accountable for managing packaging of the respective product ranges, including regulatory and legal updates, skuworks, brand website etc.
- Be the Marketing representative for trade shows and events
- Ensure the Marketing budget is up to date
- Be responsible for maintaining the brand look and feel across all platforms
- Have the ability to interpret and influence product P&Ls
To qualify for consideration for this role, you need a tertiary qualification in BCom Marketing/Brand Management, ideally a postgraduate qualification with at least 5 years relevant Marketing and experience gained within the FMCG Foods industry.
You should be able to demonstrate the ability to interpret data and provide recommendations and be proficient in Microsoft Office and G-Suite. Your financial acumen is strong with (1) ability to manage and allocate budgets and (2) a clear understanding of the workings of a P&L and the key drivers that need to be tracked and improved on to achieve healthy profitable growth in the category. You need to understand trends and have the ability to respond to customers' requirements/demands. You are creative with the ability to produce innovative and original ideas. A valid drivers license, own transport and willing to travel as required is essential.
