Summary of role
- Management of Obsolescence due to engineering changes
- Manage release effectivity dates for the following:
- CRITICAL: Line Stops, Field Issues
- RUNNING CHANGES: Projects, Cost Savings, Product Improvements
- CUSTOMER DRIVEN: Option specific implementation
- Single Point of contact for Change Management timelines.
- Opens bottlenecks and improves throughput of Change Management Process.
- Receive and understand engineering changes.
- Analyze Engineering Changes (ECOs) for understanding and plant impact.
- Manage engineering change implementation in Team Center, QAD, and Workflow Portal.
- Host the local engineering change meeting on a weekly basis with all required departments; with cross-functional team members (as required).
- Interface with cross functional groups to properly implement engineering changes.
- Work with project team, plant, planning, and customer to develop and / or maintain engineering change timeline.
- Communicate with suppliers, engineers, buyers and others on status of engineering changes and help move change along.
- Review daily reports of pending change breakpoints & address discrepancies/concerns.
- Maintain engineering change forecast to track changes and communicate to launch team.
- Manage and track engineering change work orders for current production and launch related activities. (Retranslations and Split Orders).
- Manage engineering changes to minimize/prevent Obsolete inventory.
- Maintain and publish breakpoint summaries.
- Maintain engineering change tracker file that identifies the B/P dates of changes (We should change this to Teamcenter and QAD. We have created the functionality for these dates in both systems).
- Work with offsite locations to implement engineering changes.
- Participate in weekly department engineering change review meetings including weekly launch meetings (as required).
- Various duties and special projects as required.
Required
- High level of oral and written communication skills.
- High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
- High level of analytical ability where problems are somewhat complex.
- High level of computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- College graduate or equivalent training.
- Experience using TC, QAD, or other material inventory systems.
- Supply Chain or Production Control experience
- Autocar Systems Experience; Team Center (TC), Workflow Portal, and QAD
- Knowledge of continuous improvement processes.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Word
- College Degree or equivalent experience.
