The key purpose of this role is to perform optimisation/modifications and maintenance of process control systems.
Key roles and responsibilities:
- Contribute to continuously improve the plant, processes and systems
- Provide technical support and enhance machine, system and process capabilities
- Make technical recommendations of changes required by production team
- Execute small process improvement projects
- Assist in the implementation of plant and process improvement projects
- Maintain, repair and optimise plant & associated devices
- Assist with and manage Routine Plant Maintenance
- Interact daily with the production team to resolve process related problems
- Work in teams, support VPO initiatives
- Mentor production staff on manufacturing system issues
- Standby duties, and able to work shifts as required
- Ensure a safe healthy and risk-free working environment
- Demonstrated and proven technical knowledge of process measurement instrumentation (level, temperature, pressure, pH, etc.) operating principles and calibration procedures
- Technical understanding of Control Systems architecture (network architecture, servers, plcs, workstations, network switches, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of data historian systems (InSQL, etc.)
- Demonstrated technical knowledge of Fieldbus technology (ASI, profibus industrial Ethernet)
- Problem solving abilities on process control systems. (PLCs, SCADA, Batch systems, Fieldbus, instrumentation, Ethernet, industrial switches etc)
- Experience in configuring and troubleshooting wireless control networks
- Ability to execute small software changes and projects
- Contribute and maintain C&A Good operating practices
- Knowledge of the Brewing, Utilities and Packaging Process
- N5 Certificate and a Trade Test Qualification
- Minimum of 1 year instrumentation equipment maintenance and PLC n experience as well as good fault-finding capabilities
- Experience with Instrumentation, Concept, Siemens, RSBatch , InTouch, Fieldbus Networks Asi, Profibus, Ethernet) and InSQL
- Knowledge of OHS Act, NOSA.
