Marsh has a fantastic opportunity for a Marine Broker to join our team in the Johannesburg office.
The position offers an exciting challenge and career opportunity for someone with a strong background within Marine insurance, ideally as a broker but we can also consider Marine Underwriting or Claims, looking to join an established Marine broking team within a market leading insurance broker.
Within this role you will be responsible for handling Marine accounts. Your expertise will be crucial as you will be handling challenging renewals, ensuring optimal outcomes for both clients and the organization.
This is a full time role and you must be able to attend the office a minimum of 3 days a week including Monday & Wednesday.

- Provide Marine Broking Services.
- Attend strategy meetings and/or renewal meetings.
- Preparation / Finalisation of Broking documentation.
- Identification and selection of appropriate markets.
- Distribution of Broking Notes to the market.
- Negotiating with Markets for best deals.
- Implementation of placement strategy on high complexity accounts.
- Collation of market terms and quotes for submission to client services.
- Preparation / Finalisation of Placing Slips.
- Closings to markets / obtaining market confirmation of cover.
- Confirm final placement / changes and Endorsements.
- Work with the Operations team to issue accurate policy schedules.
- Preparation of other broking documentation as required.
- Demonstrable experience in Marine short term insurance.
- FAIS and CPD compliant.
- RE 05 (Representatives Exam) PASSED .
- Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Conversant with insurance legislation.
- Excellent communications skills - English and local language verbal and written.
- Relevant Degree within the Marine field.
