Start date: January 2024 - Permanent role
Duties: Fetch from school and bring home / straight to extra murals and then home, occasionally to play dates may sometimes have a friend come home with him in the afternoon. Making lunch / general care and "looking after" in the afternoons while at home.
Willingness to play, take child to activities (adventure golf / bowling / arcades / driving range etc / bike park / play dates /baking / swimming with son) and to engage with him and not just supervise him watching TV in the afternoon.
Assist with homework / school activities as needed including for example arranging dress up costumes / baker day.
Management of son's activity schedule and ability to liaise with extra mural providers / coaches etc.
Ad hoc errands as needed (buying of birthday presents / school stuff etc)
House sitting from time to time staying in house and looking after pets (partner / friends welcome to stay with au pair and use of house amenities totally fine when housesitting extra house sitting rate per night to be agreed).
Willingness to also help care for my niece and nephew if they travel to SA from USA on holiday during normal work hours and overtime as agreed.
Willingness to babysit at night (on fair notice and of course, to be paid an overtime rate as agreed).
Requirements: Energetic, enthusiastic but gentle my son is a sensitive, gentle and super inquisitive little guy. Experience with pre-school kids would be preferable but not a deal breaker. Needs to "click: with the family. My last au pair was with us for 4 years and felt like part of the family. Am looking for that feeling again. Preferably someone who lives in the area / nearby. Would prefer a student / younger au pair rather than an older au pair.
Needs to be a good driver, good communicator and trustworthy. These are probably the most NB things
Salary: R10000 per month plus R5 per km
Overtime Rate: R100 Per hour
Sundays and Public Holidays: R200 per hour
House Sitting rate: R200 per evening
All Au Pair Extraordinaire applicants must fill the following requirements:
- Must have at least 12 consecutive months of formal child caring experience, excluding work done for friends and family. This experience must be within the last 2 years.
- Must have their own, reliable car and at least 18 months driving experience.
- Must have at least 2 contactable childcare references.
- Must have a clear criminal record
- Must have a passion for children
- Must have Matric
- Must have a South African ID document.
