PRODUCTION MANAGER
A position has arisen at our Gauteng branch for a Production Manager.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following (amongst other duties):
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Ensuring that the entrusted plant achieves agreed production efficiencies
- Ensuring that Raw Material Wastage levels are maintained below the agreed targets
- Ensuring the continuous management of raw material, packaging and finished goods stock
- Ensuring the short, medium and long maintenance and service of machinery and moulds
- Ensuring the establishment and maintenance of interplant & interdepartmental relationships
- Ensuring that the plants are managed in the way
- Ensuring the achievement of all Quality manufacturing standards
- Ensuring the implementation and maintenance of the ISO 9001 Quality System as per Procedures and Work instructions related to the plant
- Ensuring that all financial budgets relevant to the plant are adhered to and achieved
- Ensuring that individuals and teams are managed effectively and according to the way
- Assessing the training and developments needs of all employees and develop a succession plan
- Keeping abreast of, advising and ensuring the implementation (where cost effective) of technical and process developments and improvements
- Ensuring a high standard of Housekeeping and Safety – The Standards
- Communicating effectively with all levels in plant and with all departments
- Meeting and liaising with the customer as and when necessary
KEY COMPETENCIES
- An Engineering degree (Mechanical/Electrical) will be beneficial
- BTech (Mechanical/Electrical Engineering)
- At least 3 years experience in a management position in the production environment
- Knowledge and understanding of Quality Management Systems
- An ability to set and monitor and manage budgets and financial targets
- An ability to plan and organize effectively
- An ability to make decisions quickly and effectively
- An enthusiastic motivating personality
- An ability to motivate and drive a team
- An ability to communicate effectively across levels
- An understanding of ISO 9001
- Attention to detail
- Knowledge of all relevant legislation i.e OSHACT, etc.
- An ability to continuously improve all processes
- Be self motivated and energised to others
