Responsibilities
- Routine Maintenance: Perform regular inspections and maintenance tasks on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Repair and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair equipment and structural issues promptly and efficiently. Address emergency maintenance requests as needed.
- Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to ensure the longevity and reliability of building systems and equipment.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to safety regulations and guidelines. Identify and rectify potential safety hazards.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment servicing, and repairs. Report findings and updates to the maintenance manager.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of supplies, tools, and equipment required for maintenance tasks.
- Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with external vendors and contractors when specialized repairs or services are required. Ensure vendor work meets quality and safety standards.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other maintenance team members and staff to resolve maintenance issues and improve building operations.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of building systems, equipment, and maintenance procedures. Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills to report maintenance issues, coordinate with team members, and interact with vendors and contractors.
- Safety Awareness: A strong commitment to safety protocols and practices in all maintenance activities.
- Organization: Exceptional organizational skills to maintain maintenance records and manage inventory efficiently.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency maintenance requests as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in building maintenance is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Building Maintenance Technician or in a similar role.
- Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Basic computer skills for maintenance recordkeeping and communication.
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
