Purpose
Based in Cape Town this role will support our client, with responsibility for business analyst. The successful candidate will be responsible to build and administer an accurate BI reporting suite to meet internal and client requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, user cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis
- Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
- Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyse information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artefacts as needed: (Functional requirements (Business Requirements Document), User Cases, GUI, Screen and Interface designs)
- Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Work independently with users to define concepts and under direction of project managers
- Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans
- Serve as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow
- Develop requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language
- Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyse trade-offs between usability and performance needs
- Be the liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams
- Establishing, documenting and communicating solution agnostic business requirements in a clear, concise and unambiguous way, by applying a range of analysis techniques
- Engaging directly with a range of stakeholders including
- Assisting in the development of business cases and feasibility studies
- Providing analysis to explore business strategy and objectives
- Assisting the Service Desk by providing advice on the resolution of customer reported issues where necessary
- Assisting with the maintenance of product documentation, procedures or service descriptions
- Workshop facilitation and leading discussions to inform knowledge and feasibility
- Maintaining and obtaining agreement to a range of analysis artefacts in support of requirements definition:
- User requirements/User stories, Business Requirements, Functional Requirements, Non Functional Requirements, Implementation Requirements and Business Rules
- Business Process Mapping Current, Interim and Future State
- Prioritising user requirements using MOSCOW technique
Selection Criteria
- Experience in using definition and management systems and methodologies
- Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
- Advanced knowledge of different forecasting techniques
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel (Macros, Formula)
- Experience within a Resource Planning or MI management level position within a call centre operation
- Process implementation or change management skills
- A genuine interest in data analysis
- Excellent problem solving skills
Desirable Experience/Skills
- Experience of using MS SQL Server
- Experience in VBA / Task Scheduler Working knowledge of Business Objects
- A good understanding of call centre operational processes
- Retail or telecoms experience
- Contact centre budgeting, P&L and planning experience
