Responsibilities
The incumbent will be responsible to:
- Provide strategic business analysis services to the Executive, Faculties and Departments;
- Work closely with the business to gain in-depth understanding of customers business strategy, processes, services, roadmap and context in which the business operates;
- Complete and interpret the business needs, by completing technical specification documents to address the requirements of the clients Relate and communicate technology in the business context;
- Review assigned processes from end to end to identify and address operational, financial and technological risks;
- Identify opportunities and gaps to improve efficiency;
- Lead small to mid-size projects and assist on larger more complex projects related to operational business functions that effect the HR and Payroll departments in the University as a whole;
- Conduct fit/gap analysis, partnering with technical developers for implementation of requests and upgrades, enhancements and changes to be installed on Peoplesoft Human Capital Management applications;
- Creation of test plans as well as conduct testing to ensure Quality Assurance during the development phase
- A three-year HR, IT, Data Analysis degree or related field;
- Four years experience:
- HR ERP systems experience;
- HR/Business analysis and statistical analysis;
- Software development testing;
- Creating functional specification documents;
- Process automation and workflow;
- Project management;
- Handling days to day operational requests from business;
- Technical support to HR and payroll;
- Report writing.
- ESS and MSS exposure and configuration.
- Knowledge of HR Legislation;
- Knowledge of HR Policies and Procedures;
- Knowledge of HR and Remuneration data and processes;
- Understanding of processes and tools used in data collection and processing
- In-depth understanding of data verification as well as the integration points with Payroll.
- In-Depth understanding of the employee lifecycle
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office: Excel, PowerPoint, project and word;
- Understand HRMS database design, structure, functions and processes;
- Excellent analytical skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Good communication skills;
- Good presentation skills;
- Good facilitation skills;
- Good planning and organisational skills;
- Excellent time management skills;
- Excellent project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Technical report writing certificate;
- Software testing training courses for example ISTQB qualification;
- Data analyses / Data Analytics courses;
- Structured Query Language (SQL).
- Experience in systems implementation
- Experience in Tertiary Institutions
- Business Analyst training
The annual remuneration package will be commensurate with the incumbents level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines. UP subscribes to the BESTMED and UMVUZO medical aid schemes and contributes 50% of the applicable monthly premium.
