Key Purpose of the role The BA will independently gather business requirements and draft specifications. To follow the entire SDLC process to successfully implement projects, enhancements and production issues. To run independently with projects, enhancements and production issues.

The BA will need to know both the waterfall and Agile methodology as these methodologies might be used interchangeably or within specific projects depending on the project demands.

The Business Analyst will be responsible for working with the Business, development, and testing teams to drive the programme vision, objectives and take ultimate ownership for delivering impactful solutions with the project team. The BA will work and negotiate directly with all stakeholders to analyse and transform business objectives into a backlog of prioritised user stories or requirements based on internal needs and business value. The BA must have experience in all aspects of delivering end to end solutions of varying complexity, and size. Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to
  • Responsible for the execution and delivery of the Analysis phase of the project, the quality of testing outputs and deliverables (either using an Agile or waterfall methodology based on the methodology agreed for the relevant project)
  • Responsible for the elicitation of business and product rules and requirements.
  • Document existing As Is processes and develop and document new To Be processes. Creating the synergy between the Analysis phase and Design Phase of the project.
  • Produce:
    • Written Functional Requirement Specifications for various system enhancements/maintenance/projects etc by retrieving the requirements from business and holding JAD sessions and producing technical detail to meet businesss requirements.
    • Or Produce epics, user stories with business rules and acceptance criteria.
  • Review and sign off test packs and test matrix drawn up by the testing team. Assist in testing after development to ensure that the requirements have been delivered as per the FRD or user stories identified in the sprint. To assist in identifying defects for resolution (review defects raised to ensure that they are valid and resolved) before deploying for User Acceptance Testing and sign-off.
  • Identifying processes that can be optimized and proactively initiating change to ensure efficiency.
  • Responsible for production support after go-live off projects within the guarantee period.
  • Root cause analysis of bugs to reduce and eliminate future risk.
  • Collaborate with the project manager and development team to continually manage scope and expectations.
  • Works closely with the development lead to define work for the developers via acceptance criteria on the user stories.
  • Work with the project team to formulate a release vision and high-level epics.
  • Constantly manage business expectations on release scope
  • Present and justify a release to the project stakeholders.
  • Participate in project process including Release Planning, Sprint Planning, Backlog Grooming, Daily Scrum, and Sprint Review
  • Work with customers and stakeholders to understand their needs and manage expectations.
  • Define and prioritise a backlog of work.
  • Maintain a well-groomed product backlog.
  • Be the customer's voice and provide perspective on business value on a day-to-day basis.
  • Continuously evaluate and prioritise user stories based on business needs.
  • Write user stories and acceptance criteria.

Education and Experience
  • More than 3 years experience as a BA. Experienced in testing. Solid Cross Departmental experience and cross functional analysi experience
  • Diploma in Business analysis or other relevant Business anlaysis certification
  • Intermediate to advanced business process mapping skills (BPMN/Visio) or any other process mapping tool.
  • Intermediate or advance Excel and Microsoft office skills
  • Has relevant business experience or product knowledge
  • Excellent interpersonal and client-handling skills
  • Ability to contribute towards a team effort
  • Ability to work with ambiguity
  • Initiative and self-confidence, adaptable and able to cope with changing and evolving priorities while being able to identify new opportunities
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies (preferably Scrum) and knowledge of the full project lifecycle
  • Ability to work and navigate on Confluence and JIRA or a similar tool.
