Business Development Consultant (SADC)

Purpose Of The Role

To develop and execute on the international business strategy for the SADC region. The incumbent is required to conduct research and perform market analyses on a regular basis, providing feedback on new opportunities found. Responsible for ensuring that sales targets are met, new customers are identified, and existing Distributors are retained through regular international travel and business development in the SADC region.

Requirements
  • Diploma/degree in sales/marketing or international business
  • 5 years' experience in a global sales department
  • 5 years' managing Distributors internationally
  • 5-8 years in a sales HOD position
  • Previous experience dealing with sales and Distributors in the SADC region
  • 5-10 years' international sales experience
  • Clean Driver's license
  • Valid passport for travel

Duties
  • Work closely with the Global GM to develop and execute on the international business strategy and objectives in line with the overall strategy by ensuring attendance at exhibitions and trade shows
  • Compile and conduct market analysis and research on new business opportunities for the SADC region, providing feedback, reports and market intelligence followed by travel to these countries
  • Identity the appropriate route to market
  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate business growth and meeting of sales targets in SADC region through regular international travel and business development
  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing Distributors and customers whilst identifying new customers and partnerships
  • Regular marketing to the database of clients (existing and potential)
  • Conduct SWOT analyses and feasibility studies on the market
  • Monitor the activity of competitors in the region
  • Prepare and process quotations
  • Secure and manage the administration of sales orders for the SADC region
  • Research, identify and comply with relevant rules, policies, and procedures for the SADC countries
  • Ensure that all documents align with INCO requirements
  • Accountable for the logistics of products and resources required to execute on Projects
  • Work together with colleagues to ensure that technical expertise and resource requirements are allocated to successfully execute projects
  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing Distributors/customers, ensuring partnership development, while also identifying new opportunities and cold calling
  • Mentor, lead and engage with team members, ensuring that sales targets are met
  • Identify and oversee the tasks needed to reach goals
  • Assign tasks to team members and provide the tools needed to carry them out
