Business Development
- Self-Motivated Team Player in an established department;
- Attending / hosting meetings, preparation for and the follow up of new business leads and prospects;
- Provide demonstrations to clients, Brokers or IFAs on CIG products and systems;
- Travel to Clients / Brokers or IFAs in South Africa, Africa and the Middle East when required reporting to the Johannesburg office;
- Must be able to generate New Business enquiries via various methods i.e., e-mail, LinkedIn campaigns, Events and telephone;
- Dealing with New Business enquiries via various methods i.e., e-mail, LinkedIn campaigns, Events, and telephone;
- When needed, assisting the SA focused Business development managers;
- Building relationships with Clients, Brokers and IFAs;
- Follow the pro-active relationship management tier process via iDCRM;
- Presenting to clients of the Group;
- Meet or surpass sales targets set at the beginning of the year;
- Maintain existing client relationships;
- Send out application forms, introducer agreements and company information;
- New business projects and initiatives, constantly thinking of new innovative ideas for increasing sales;
- Heading the implementation of relationship management events including Boardroom Lunches, seminars, Christmas entertaining and networking opportunities;
- Hosting at networking events;
- Reflect with integrity the values of CIG as part of its public facing profile;
- Helping to prepare formal reports for the CIG Executive committee meetings;
- Monitoring New Business statistics as or when required;
- Quarterly reports and Statistic analysis ;
- Play active role in weekly team meetings;
- Implementing and streamlining new processes;
- Monitoring iDCRM Sales performance and report to the relevant Directors;
- Continuous improvement of statistical reporting of BD activity via iDCRM;
- To attend regular meetings on all areas of sales to ensure we are working as a team.
- Liaise with Head of Business Development to maintain and develop mutually supportive relationship;
- Communicate proactively with the Customer Services and Client Support team to ensure new and existing BD relationships are well serviced through on boarding and ongoing processes;
- Support relevant BD focused social media activity;
- Maintain good understanding of relevant risk management and compliance processes and procedures relevant to the activities of the BD team;
- Support other members of the Group Business Development team including those based in other offices -the Isle of Man.
- RE5 Certificate and Bachelor`s Degrees, Advanced Diploma or CFP Required;
- Presentation skills to both small and larger audiences of clients; wide knowledge of financial services industry in Africa and the Middle East and topical issues; sound technical product knowledge;
- Confident; self-starter; ambitious; relationship builder;
- Minimum 5 Years relative industry experience, Proven track record and experience of successful business development within a financial services environment, ideally within the industry area of investments, offshore investment knowledge is required; existing network of potential client contacts;
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans.
