A leading company in the offshore mining industry, located in Irene, Centurion is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager. This role is key to driving new business growth, particularly in developing African markets. The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of experience in business development within the mining or industrial sectors, with a strong focus on sales and project management. The role involves identifying and prospecting new opportunities, developing strategic business plans, managing client relationships, and driving revenue generation. The candidate must be capable of building strong partnerships, staying updated on industry trends, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure the successful execution of projects. Minimum Requirements:
- Matric.
- A qualification in Science or Engineering fields is preferred, but a qualification in Business will be beneficial.
- Minimum of 7 years of demonstrable experience in business development within the mining or industrial environment.
- Own vehicle and valid Drivers License.
- Valid passport and yellow fever card.
- Willing and able to undertake regular business trips to developing African countries as required.
- Strong technical understanding of the mining industry.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities to gather, interpret, and apply concepts to provide solutions.
Identifying and Prospecting Opportunities
- Conduct market research to identify new target markets, clients, and business opportunities.
- Generate leads that can be successfully converted into proposals.
- Prepare compelling proposals that highlight how the company's value proposition provides solutions to clients.
- Create and execute comprehensive business development plans aligned with the organisations goals.
- Identify key areas for growth, devise strategies to penetrate new markets, and explore partnerships to expand the companys reach.
- Build strong relationships with existing and prospective clients as well as key partnerships by expanding the integrated services portfolio to the offshore customer base.
- Maintain excellent client retention rates by cultivating long-term relationships.
- Stay updated on industry regulations, socio-economic factors, and competition, and report thereon.
- Engage in strategic networking, attend industry events, and leverage connections to expand the companys client base.
- Monitor, report, and act on client feedback regarding environmental and social priorities.
- Drive sales and generate revenue for the organisation.
- Develop sales strategies, negotiate contracts, and close deals to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Focus on professional services to drive continued business establishment and growth in offshore work.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts and reports to management.
- Oversee, manage, and ensure projects are executed according to client needs and expectations.
- Collaborate with various internal departments to ensure alignment and support for business development initiatives.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize the overall business development process.
- Track, analyse, and report offshore business performance and progress to the executive team.
