Role Purpose/Business Unit:
- The incumbent will report directly to the VB Director and should have a strong commercial acumen, excellent people skills, a financial background, and good project management knowledge as well as an in-depth knowledge of the business and industry.
- To increase the available time and agility of the Director to focus his/her time, effort, and priorities on strategic initiatives.
- To act as liaison between the Director and other stakeholders both internal and external
- To be responsible for all the data reporting needs within the Directors Office to integrate into Exco and board reports as well as any other required reporting
- To assist the Director with various functions ranging from pro-active financial analysis, pro-active commercial and operations management, to business project management and the finer details of all parts of the organisation
Business Intelligence
- Understand the BI tools available and being able to obtain relevant information from the various source systems.
- Conduct and analyse financial performance and indicators per segment against main competitors and industry standards.
- Monitor progress against assigned strategic initiatives and deliverables.
- Report on deviations that could derail the achievements against targets.
- Research and formulation of presentations
- Deliver actionable measurement for all impacting projects and initiatives.
- Manage creation of consistent and integrated improvement
- Facilitate the dissemination and receipt of key information by working closely with the Exco and their leadership team.
- Work closely with the Finance Business Partners to analyse and interpret financial information to ensure that VB operates within budget requirements and achieves financial goals
- Prepare executive summaries and updates on expenditure/cost against deliverables.
- Proactively engage with Exco on operational and reporting items as required from time to time.
- Monitor and report on the implementation of cost saving initiatives.
- Ensure a sound reporting framework is in place which is aligned to the Vodacom / Vodafone standards.
- Ensure and enforce that good governance principles are adhered to with the Director.
- Co-ordinate and drive monthly reports and reviews as required by the Chief with a focus on critically filtering and prioritising key pieces of information.
- Prepare the necessary documentations and presentations as required for internal and external audiences by researching, prioritising and validating information that facilitates sound decision making.
- Evaluate commercial information and recommend compelling value propositions.
- Provide analysis and reporting for Exco and Board of Directors
- Ensure business decisions are implemented and executed within the approved and accepted governance framework.
- Monitor progress on allocated projects deliverables.
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
- Matric / Grade 12 essential
- Minimum of 3-year relevant Degree/ National Diploma or is essential
- Business related courses completed is essential.
- A business-related MBA is strongly preferred
- Minimum of 8 years relevant experience:
- Managing functional responsibilities at a senior manager level within a corporate environment
- Telecommunications/Enterprise Project management
- Managing / building relationships at Executive level
- Providing financial analysis at Executive Management level
- Minimum of 2yrs Leadership/Management experience (an advantage)
- Candidate will be required to be available to the Director outside of regulated working hours
