Purpose Of The Role
The document writer produces factual information about products, procedures and processes in a variety of formats, from instruction manuals to help desk material, frequently asked questions (FAQs), how-to's, fact sheets, technical specifications, and reference manuals. Candidate needs to be able to describe complex processes in clear English. He or she will be expected to contribute to the layout and design of the document, particularly with reference to diagrams that support the step-by-step instructions he has written. The Candidate may work solo and be responsible for all aspects of the document or be part of a team and need to perform his duties reliably to get the project completed on time.
We are looking for a Technical Writer to produce high-quality documentation that contributes to the overall success of our products and the delivery thereof.
Duties Include, But Not Limited To
- Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product, Procedures/Process and the documentation requirements
- Meet with subject-matter experts to ensure specialized topics are appropriately addressed.
- Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience
- Write easy-to-understand user interface text, online help and developer guides
- Generate innovative ideas for content and workflow solutions.
- Create tutorials to help end-users use a variety of applications
- Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
- Create and maintain the information architecture
- Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information for greatest reader comprehension.
- Analyze information required for the development or update of policy, procedure and form documentation.
- Review and/or copyedit content developed by other members of the team.
Essential Criteria
- Proven working experience in technical writing of software documentation
- Ability to deliver high quality documentation paying attention to detail
- Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
- Excellent written skills in English
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Previous working experience in a ecommerce/banking/payments/product role advantageous
