Job Description
Old Mutual International (OMI) is one of the leading offshore Investment platforms in South Africa and part of the Old Mutual Wealth business. It offers retail clients access to global investment markets through a market leading investment proposition and an experienced team of investment professionals.
The team is looking to appoint a suitable individual to assist in the growth and ongoing management of its investment range.
The role will offer exposure to an exciting investment world, international markets and a wide group of internal and external stakeholders.
The type of work will include technical investment work, investment administration, problems solving, investment reporting and calculations, system work, relationship management and marketing and communication.
Key responsibilities will include amongst others the following:
- Accountable for the maintenance of Master Fund list and ensuring all details around the investments are updated on our records, brochures and in the system (e.g. Fund names, system codes, trade details, AMC and TERs etc).
- Accountable for Fund addition process: on-boarding of New Funds and managing the demand and operational loading and launching of funds. Ensure sign-off from Investment Committee and keep records.
- Supporting the Discretionary Fund management (DFM) team to load new funds and/or new share classes.
- Managing Trade calendars and system set-up. Resolving trade breakages or technical issues with admin team.
- Accountable for the monitoring, planning and execution of resolutions to Corporate Actions (e.g. Fund mergers, closures and other changes).
- Accountable for asset reviews for all new instruments to ensure they are suitable for OMI to hold.
- Technical expertise and support on market Instrument details e.g. missing ISIN, SEDOL, CUSIPs and ability to resolve duplicated or erroneous asset capturing.
- Support to sales team with Fund Performance Reports and Figures using Morningstar Direct, Eikon and other Tools.
- Producing reports for Investment insights and building Fact Sheets for Customized Model Portfolios using Market Data Tools.
- Support Finance team to resolve technical queries for deliveries including Assets Reports, Reconciliation issues etc.
- Liaising with the relevant external stakeholders (fund managers, investment providers, DFMs etc.) as well as internal stakeholders (e.g. distribution, operations & finance as well as tax) to coordinate technical deliverables.
- Tertiary Qualification Finance and or Investment related. CFA or similar qualification (or in progress) will be beneficial.
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience in the Fund Administration or Investment Industry
- Keen interest in investment and fund management industry.
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Strong communication skills and stakeholder relationship/engagement skills.
- Structured, pragmatic and well-organised approach to work.
