Business Unit Manager

Our client, based in Johannesburg, is an integrated water business that supplies water to an array of clients from host communities, to residential owners, factories, and many more. The business also owns a factory that manufactures all its water filtration equipment used in the water supply ecosystems.

The business has now come to a point where it wants to start an in-house hydrology consultancy arm which will consult both internally to other business units as well as to 3 parties. The aim is to offer and holistic water consultancy service.

They are looking for a Business Unit Manager, who has entrepreneurial thinking and experience with the ability to start a department from scratch and build it up over time.

Work Description

Groundwater exploration
Aquafer modeling and projections
Catchment management & modelling
Integrated mine water management
Compliance auditing
Water use licensing
Water balances

Skills

10 Years' experience in this field
Mining water experience will be beneficial but not a prerequisite
Consulting experience
Self-starter
Need to be able to work independently
Strong leadership skills
The person needs to be very well presented i.e. professional, confident, and competent
Ability to create and maintain a high-performance work environment
Strong technical skills relevant to his/her daily duties

Education

Degree in either Hydrology or Environmental Science.
